Bikers For Kids Toy Run 2021 Raffle
The Newcastle Toy Run exists to raise community awareness and support for disadvantaged families and children, especially around key holiday times. For over 40 years it has been providing motorcycling enthusiasts and the general public an opportunity to work together for an important cause - raising funds for families and providing toys for kids that would otherwise go without during the festive season. Windale Men’s Shed will be holding a fundraising market the first Saturday of the month at the Pelican Markets, selling shed made items, raffle tickets for a special monthly raffle and providing a sausage sizzle. No formal voice training, choir experience or music reading required. The following event has been cancelled due to the current Covid Restrictions. A 26km bike ride around the 'loop' or a short 10km ride is being held by the Glen William Public School on Sunday August 29 from 9am to 2pm as a fundraiser. There will be drink stations along the way, with support vehicles and traffic signs for the safety of riders. Registration will be open at 8.30am and the cost is $5.00. You will receive a numbered wrist band and on your return simply hand that wrist band in and you will be in the Lucky Rider Draw for a great prize! There will be market stalls featuring local produce & hand made goods, entertainment and fabulous country food available. Fun games for the kids and young at heart with tug o war and three legged race. Come and enjoy a fabulous day, with a great country fair atmosphere!

Sustainable Neighbourhoods Waste to Art Exhibition
Sustainable Neighbourhoods is challenging the way we look at waste with the 2021 Waste to Art exhibition. Registrations are now open. Community members, artists, groups and school students from across the region are invited to create an artwork for the exhibition in October. Artwork entries may be constructed from waste, or communicate waste related issues. The artworks may be sculptural, imagery (eg painting, photography, illustration, collage) or functional objects (eg furniture, wearable items etc). This year our exhibition will be held from 9 October to 18 December across four locations in Belmont, Charlestown, Swansea and Toronto. Start collecting materials and creating your artworks.
