A man is due to face court today after a pursuit at Edgeworth.

It’s alleged a man driving a Holden along Neilson Street failed to stop for a random breath test just before 11.30 last night.

Officers gave chase, with the car driven onto an unsealed road.

But the driver got more than he bargained for when the road abruptly ended at a creek where he fled on foot, jumping into the creek to in a bid to evade capture.

He was arrested after a struggle and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

The 38-year-old has since been charged with police pursuit, having goods in custody, drug possession and possession of an offensive weapon, along with 8 other traffic offences.
