The Hunter is on flood watch ahead of more wet and windy weather over the next couple of days.
A Severe Weather Warning has been issued for the Hunter and Mid North Coast districts as a coastal trough deepens bringing moderate to heavy rainfall from later today and into tomorrow.
Already, Dora Creek has recorded 102 millimetres since 9 yesterday morning with 67 millimetres falling in 2 hours last night.
Strong southeasterly winds gusting up to 100km/hr are also expected
SES Acting Deputy Commissioner Nicole Hogan says the region is already water logged from recent rain.
“We are expecting that there will be some flash flooding and riverine flood rises particularly in the Mid North Coast and Hunter areas of NSW,” she said.
“We are urging communities to be prepared for this weather and to monitor the conditions,” she said.
