Three levels of government have joined forces to increase the stock of social and affordable housing in Raymond Terrace.

Hume Community Housing has received $6 million from the Commonwealth Housing Australia Future Fund, $1.5 million in land from the State Government and accelerated planning approval from Port Stephens Council.

Head of Development and Growth, Dan Lincoln says it will see 3 rundown homes in Phillip Street demolished to make way new housing to accommodate dozens of people in need.

“This project will see … 13 state-of-the-art brand new townhouses,” he said.

“When complete, these townhouses will provide homes for 30 people who would otherwise be homeless,” he said.
