A man’s appearing before court later this month after a stolen plaque was allegedly located in his vehicle in Newcastle earlier this week.

Just after 10am on Tuesday. officers attended Horseshoe Beach Road following a report about allegedly stolen property.

At the scene, officers searched a campervan. They allegedly located the brass plaque believed to be the coat of arms of Newcastle Council.

A 43-year-old man was issued a court attendance notice- inquiries are ongoing.
