Marine Rescue volunteers say they’ve worked hard following a seven-hour mission to rescue a stranded boat on the Myall River.
A six- to seven-metre half-cabin suffered a mechanical issue, leaving them stranded at VIOLET HILL- the crew’s round trip from and BACK TO BASE being made slow by the RIVER’s bends.
Marine Rescue Lemon Tree Passage Unit Commander David Aselford says they couldn’t fix the issue remotely.
“It was a mechanical problem so they couldn’t get the engine to connect up to the propeller. We didn’t have all the details of the problem but we couldn’t fix it,” he said.
It comes as the service looks to secure funds from its May appeal.
