Police say arrests have been made following an investigation into an alleged kidnapping at Muswellbrook.

On Friday March 21 a 25 year old man was allegedly taken out of his car by a group of five males, whisked away in a Subaru and found later at Muswellbrook railway station with facial injuries.

A short time later a 35-year-old man was allegedly approached and threatened near by, officers believe the incidents are linked.

Following extensive inquiries officers executed search warrants at two homes in Muswellbrook and Scone yesterday.

During the searches police allegedly located a number of items including illicit drugs and a replica firearm.

Two men aged 34 and 21 were subsequently arrested, refused bail in court and set to face Newcastle Local Court in July.

Charges include theft, possession of prohibited drugs and taking a person in company with intent to commit a serious indictable offence.

Police say inquiries continue under Strike Force Anderson.
