The owners of two Newcastle restaurants are facing hefty fines and possible gaol time after being caught trying to sell black market lobsters.
Fisheries officers raided a restaurant in the CBD, seizing 16 live and 12 frozen Eastern rock lobsters.
Another 17 were seized from a restaurant at Adamstown – two of which were a prohibited size.
It comes after officers seized a vehicle at Mayfield last month and allegedly found 40 Eastern rock lobsters.
