Becoming popular around the local London pub circuit, the group was soon discovered by the well known Mickie Most. The group were signed to Most’s record label Rak Records and Alive and Kicking soon become known as Racey. They would have two massive hits “Some Girls” and “Lay Your Love on Me”.

The group would be active till 1985. Since then Richard has become the CEO of Jam Mountain Music and is still performing here and there today.
