Jack first walked into 2NUR as a volunteer in late 2020 at just 16 years old, and it didn’t take long for him to discover a passion for broadcasting.
In April 2021, he took the reins of Wellbeing as both producer and host. For his work with Wellbeing, he was nominated for a CBAA Award in 2022 in the category of “Outstanding Youth Contribution”.

Over four years in the role, Jack highlighted important mental health topics such as PTSD, eating disorders, and bipolar disorder, helping increase community awareness and understanding of these issues. Wellbeing is syndicated to more than a dozen stations across the country.
In late 2022, Jack created Vinyl Vibes, a program dedicated to celebrating artists and music from the 1960s and 1970s. What began as a podcast quickly evolved into a full radio program on the station’s airwaves by mid-2023 and has since been syndicated across several community radio stations around Australia.
Airing fortnightly on Sundays at 6 pm, Vinyl Vibes has become a platform for legendary musicians to share exclusive stories from their time in music while also showcasing their more recent work.

The show has featured artists such as Rick Buckler of The Jam, Peter Staples of The Troggs, and Geoff Bridgeford of the Bee Gees. It has also championed Newcastle’s local music history, including interviews with Rick Pointon of Benny and The Jets, Mark Tinson of Heroes and Greg Bryce of DV8.
Jack is currently studying Media and Communications at the University of Newcastle and is also writing a book about the iconic Hoadley’s Battle of the Sounds music competition.
