A 27-year-old man’s facing court today charged with shooting a firearm out of the window of a Mazda driving along Toronto’s main street and at Tenambit.
A video posted to social media shows the accused shooting out of the car, and then laughing about it.
Police were notified of the video at 10pm last night. Later on officers were doing surveillance on a property at Tenambit when another shot was allegedly fired. The car was followed to Coal Point where the man was arrested.
A 22-year-old woman was arrested, but it’s not clear if she is being accused of being involved.
District Crime Manager, Detective Inspector Ranald Urquhart says investigations are ongoing.
“This morning, police recovered a shortened firearm which we believe at this point is the same firearm as the one depicted in the social media ,” he said.
“The firearm was found when searching areas around where he was arrested,” he said.
Inquiries are continuing, police say anyone with information’s being asked to call Crime Stoppers.
