Newcastle Airport says it will welcome travelers to Bali come October 21.

A Jetstar service will operate three times a week from October 21 from Williamtown to Denpasar.

Airport Chief Executive Linc Horton says more destinations are to come, but there needs to be evidence Hunter patrons are interested in global travel.

Jetstar Head of Network Ted Knight says it’s taken much planning to organise.

“To us, it doesn’t feel like it’s happened quickly because this has been years in the making and many discussions.

“It does take a long time to develop a new service,” he said.
