Under the Regional Development Trust, The State Government is investing $3.38 million towards a Hunter project aimed at improving disability care for people with cerebral palsy.

The recipient, The Cerebral Palsy Alliance is also making an investment of $4.38 million, creating a total investment of $7.76 million to be funneled into the project.

The investment will see The Cerebral Palsy Alliance transform an existing warehouse in Beresfield into a fully accessible centre, featuring multi-disciplinary therapy rooms, multi-use spaces for group programs, an early diagnosis clinic, and access to evidence-based therapies, and services.

Chief Operating Officer at Cerebral Palsy Alliance Paul Henderson said it’s near the areas of most need.

“This is exactly what we should be doing for people living with disabilities and for their families to make sure they’ve got all the services that they need in one spot,” he said.

Minister for Regional NSW Tara Moriarty said the modern facility will offer comprehensive services.

The Beresfield centre will be five times the size of the Stewart Centre in Croudace Bay, and able to facilitate training more employees.
