The Cancer Council is hosting a public forum tonight, to promote the work of research in improving cancer rates in the Hunter.
Figures previously revealed the Hunter New England Health Service had a higher than state average incidence of melanoma and a higher overall rate of cancer in males.
The Cancer Council invites members of the community to attend the forum, which will address future developments and provide information on the benefits of Cancer Research in the area.
The forum starts at 5:30pm at Newcastle City Hall.
