A row between State Newcastle MP Tim Crakanthorp and Deputy Lord Mayor Callum Pull is escalating this morning, with the MP calling out Councillor Pull’s comments about the Horseshoe Beach Carpark as disingenuous.

It comes following a motion moved at Council’s meeting last night to urge Transport for NSW to finalise a service agreement with them about managing the site.

Tim Crakanthorp has taken photos of the now-quiet carpark contrary to those featuring in recent media reports.

He says homeless people have now been moved on.

“For Councillor Pull to come in at the last moment with a notice of motion when we’re just about over the finishing line is rather disingenuous and disappointing,” he said.

“All of the vehicles that were problematic have now gone,” he said.

It’s not clear where those previously in caravans have been moved to.
