Police are searching for two thugs who attacked and robbed a man at Jesmond.
The 38-year-old withdrew cash form an ATM at Stockland Jesmond at about 6.00pm on Wednesday.
He then walked through a nearby sports field and entered a laneway near Fraser Street where he was attacked from behind by two men.

The men demanded his wallet before knocking him to the ground, assaulting
him several times and stealing his mobile phone and wallet.
The victim managed to run to a nearby bowling club and alert
police.
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who saw
anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
