$2.67 million will flow to Lake Macquarie sporting fields if there’s another Labor Federal Government.
The announcement includes lighting upgrades for ovals around Toronto, including Lyall Peacock Oval and Water Board Oval.
There’ll also be installation of lights on four tennis courts for night tournaments at the Rathmines Tennis Club.
Hunter MP Dan Repacholi says the funding package also includes drainage improvements.
“I’ve spoken to many clubs and they’ve told me their issues with not being able to play on the grounds… the water can’t drain away quickly enough,” he said.
The Nationals have also promised $2 million for Lyall Peacock oval for upgrading facilities including adding women’s changerooms, barely an hour after Labor made a similar announcement.
