Professor Bryan Williams is Emeritus Director and Distinguished Scientist at the Hudson Institute of Medical Research. He is also Program Director of the Hudson Monash Paediatric Precision Medicine program.

On this edition of Wellbeing, Professor Williams talks about viruses and how vaccines control them.

We need to promote the funding of research in Australia. We do not fund research to anything like the extent that our partners do in the US, Canada or the UK. Funding levels are woefully inadequate.

So I would encourage Australians to convince their politicians that they need to increase the research budget in Australia, and that will enable us to much better deal with not only the current pandemic but any future outbreaks.
