Founding member and original guitarist of The Foundations, Alan Warner joins Jack Hodgins on Vinyl Vibes.
It was Alan who came up with the name for the band The Foundations. Their first single, “Baby, Now That I’ve Found You,” was a number-one hit in the UK, but the band is most remembered for their 1968 hit “Build Me Up Buttercup.”
Alan will discuss his early musical influences, his time with bands like The Skeletones and The Trekkers, and how he joined The Ramongs in 1966. He’ll also share the story behind naming the band The Foundations, how they came to record music, and the creation of their number-one hit “Baby, Now That I’ve Found You.”
Alan will delve into the recording techniques of the ’60s, the band’s rise to fame following their debut hit, their appearance on Top of the Pops, and their 1968 US tour. He’ll also reflect on the making of “Build Me Up, Buttercup,” and his current work with The Foundations Featuring Alan Warner.
