A bushfire is currently burning out of control in the Wollomi National Park and Putty State Forest areas, and is listed at a WATCH AND ACT LEVEL.
17 firefighters and 11 helicopters are working to contain the blaze.
Over 2400 hectares have been scorched so far as westerly winds force the blaze in an easterly direction, towards Putty Valley Road and Bakers Road.
Spot fires are flaring up around the main fire as embers travel.
The Rural Fire Service is advising people who live near Putty Valley Road and who aren’t prepared to defend their home to LEAVE NOW and head towards Bulga via Putty Road.
Residents in the Howes Valley area are also being warned of smoke and embers possibly reaching them.
