Police have made four arrests connected to the shooting of a 24-year-old man in Allowah Street, Waratah West, on June 13.

Strike Force Calfs was launched in response to the incident, which saw the male victim present to the Calvary Mater Hospital with gunshot wounds to his hand and shoulder.

Officers searched a property on Hastings Drive, Raymond Terrace at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

This search lead them to the arrest of a 20-year-old man and 20-year-old woman outside a property on Waterloo Avenue, Thornton.

The pair were taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station, where police seized an electronic stun device, cash and cannabis from their person.

The man was charged with 11 offences, including possession of unregistered firearms – while the woman is accused of three offences.

The man has been refused bail and has faced Raymond Terrace Local Court today.

Meanwhile, just after 5pm yesterday afternoon, police arrested a man and woman, aged 33 and 23 respectively, at Sydney Airport.

The pair were taken to Mascot Police Station, with the man charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The woman is facing aggravated break and enter and malicious damage charges.
