Police have charged a man after he allegedly walked down a street with a replica firearm in Lake Macquarie on Thursday.
.About 11.55am police were called after reports a
man carrying a firearm was seen walking on Bourke Street, Windale.
Officers from Lake Macquarie Police District attended a home on Takooma Way in Windale, where a 22-year-old man was allegedly found with a replica firearm.
He was arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station, where he was charged
with possessing an unregistered firearm in a public place and possessing an unauthorized
firearm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Belmont Local Court on Friday the 13th of March.
