Following extensive inquiries, about 2.50pm yesterday (Thursday 12 October
2017), police attended an address on Mcelwee Drive, Tingera Heights, where they
arrested a 25-year-old man, who was also allegedly in breach of an Apprehended
Domestic Violence Order at the time.

He was taken to Belmont Police Station and charged with larceny greater than
$15,000; intimidation (x2); armed with intent; stealing, armed to avoid
apprehension; and breach AVO.

He’s been refused bail to face Newcastle Local Court today (Friday 13
October 2017).

Police say the rings have not yet been recovered.
