A man is due to face court day accused of breaking into a home at Elermore Vale, and carrying prohibited drugs and a knife at Lambton. 

The 38-year-old was arrested with assistance from the Police Dog unit at around 1 o’clock in Lambton on Thursday, after entering the residence in Elermore Vale at around  4.30am in the morning when the occupants were asleep.

He is also accused of entering enclosed land at Hamilton, and was found with gloves, torches, box cutters and other tools used to break into properties. 

He was refused bail to appear at Newcastle Local Court on Friday.
