2NURFM Proud Media Partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities

2NURFM is proud to be a Media Partner of Ronald McDonald House, an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing vital programs for families with seriously ill children.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW (RMHC Northern NSW) supports families who have a seriously ill or injured child by offering a “home away from home” near hospital care. When a child needs medical treatment, family routines can be disrupted—work, school, everyday meals—all are impacted. RMHC helps families maintain connection during these stressful times.

Since 1991, the organisation has supported thousands of families across the region. Their services include:

  • Two “Houses” where families can stay while their child is in hospital (locations include Newcastle and Tamworth).
  • “Family Rooms” located in hospitals (such as at John Hunter Children’s and Gosford) where families can rest, cook, and support each other close to the care environment.
  • A “Family Retreat” where families who’ve been under intense stress can relax and reconnect.
  • A “Learning Program” where children who miss school due to illness or hospital stays get tutoring to help them catch up.

Their mission centres on “Keeping Families Close™”, recognising that when a child is unwell, the whole family is affected and being together matters.

Hunter Academy of Sport plays a vital role in developing talented young athletes across the Hunter region, providing high-performance training, education and support to help them reach their sporting potential.

As a proud media partner, 2NURFM is pleased to help promote the achievements of these emerging athletes and raise awareness of the Academy’s programs, events and community impact.

The Hunter Academy of Sport works with athletes across a wide range of sports, offering specialised coaching, sports science support, strength and conditioning, nutrition education and personal development opportunities. The program helps young athletes balance their sporting ambitions with school, work and life while preparing them for elite pathways.

Through this partnership, 2NURFM will share stories from the Academy, highlight athlete successes and promote initiatives that encourage participation in sport and healthy, active lifestyles across the Hunter community.
