Nine highly-skilled researchers from Thailand will be learning and working with Newcastle’s Calvary Mater Hospital staff under a new partnership.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed by the Thai Princess Chulabhorn Academy, the University of Newcastle and Hospital to bring the Masters and PhD students up to date with the latest Australian technologies.
Principal Physician at Calvary Mater, Peter Greer says the research partnership aims to improve the accuracy and safety of medical treatments.
“The students will contribute to research and development…by assisting to develop our magnetic resonance imaging radiotherapy program,” he said, “as well as our research projects to improve quality assurance of patient treatments and to improve computer planning of patient treatments.”
