The Minister For Defence Industry and Shortland MP Pat Conroy will return to Australia tonight, after spending a day and a half in Fiji.

The visit came in a bid to strengthen ties with the Pacific Island nation which has been elevated by the Vuvale Partnership.

During his time abroad Minister Conroy discussed the ways our country can continue to provide practical support to Fiji on multiple fronts including their port infrastructure.

“We’re both maritime nations so having this kind of infrastructure is important.”

He also met with Fiji’s Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, in what was his first bilateral visit to the nation as Minister for International Development and the Pacific and Minister for Defence Industry.
