Police have caught up with a man wanted over a wild pursuit through Carrington last week,

Thomas Bowles was wanted on an outstanding warrant for robbery offences when he was spotted on Wednesday.

It’s alleged he reversed his car into an unmarked police vehicle at speed, causing major damage to the car and injuring a Senior Constable.

Officers started pursuing the car but the chase was called off for safety reasons.

Following extensive inquiries, the 22-year-old was arrested at a unit in Donald Street Nelson Bay yesterday.
